Your practical checklist

  1. 01

    Before calling

Photograph the prescription clearly and note the patient’s full name, age, phone number and preferred day.

  2. 02

    On the confirmation call

Read the exact test name and ask about preparation, arrival time, prescription, price, payment and report delivery.

  3. 03

    What to pack

Bring the original prescription, relevant prior reports or images, identification if requested, medicine list and a charged phone.

  4. 04

    At registration

Check the spelling of the patient name, age and requested test before paying or giving a specimen.

  5. 05

    Before the examination

Tell staff about allergies, pregnancy possibility or any safety concern relevant to the requested examination.

  6. 06

    After the examination

Keep the receipt or collection slip and confirm when, where and by whom the report can be collected.

  7. 07

    Clinical follow-up

Arrange for the treating clinician to interpret the result. Do not diagnose or change medicine from a number on the report alone.
